OFW or Online Filipino Workers. Do you know that they are the modern unsung heroes of our beloved country Philippines? Yes, if teachers and Overseas Filipinos were the unsung heroes of yore, as freelancers, they are the modern day home-based heroes of this country. How?

1. Since they work at home, they need not to ride public utility vehicles which gives more opportunity for busy passengers get the ride, who needed it most.

2. They don't have to eat at fast food chains and carenderias during lunch and dinner, thus giving more share to those ridiculously hungry office workers who needed it most.

3. Because of them, cost of production decline while work outflow is held exponentially high. That sounds nose bleeding. Being a freelancer only requires a PC, internet connection and skills. Business owners need not to spend for the rent and business permits to do business.

4. Online workers or freelancers are responsible for the 30% of healthy dollar input to our country. Unlike overseas workers, freelancers generate and earn remittances at par with those workers abroad while in the comfort of their own homes.

5. They time spend more time for their families. They waste no time waiting for PUV's, for the traffic to move on, and for the rain to stop. The tendency is, they have stronger family ties.

And yes, definitely, I am a proud OFW or Online Filipino Worker. Being one is a profession that one must be proud of, even while you are on your pajamas while saying that. LOL.
